Description

Jodie | Bernese Mountain Dog | Female | 4 Years Old | January 2016 | Hanover, Germany
Nikon D7000 | f 4 | 35 mm | 1/250 sec | ISO 100

Just a little sign of life. We had a some snow (for Germany, we had a lot of snow, but because of the US, I don't want to speak of "much snow" :/) this week and I some beautiful sunsets, so I had to take the chance to take some pictures. This is my favourite one of Jodie. We had a very special evening, the sun was going down so so beautiful, the sky got red and then there was some fog, crawling slowly over the snow landscape. My better half said, the ground looks like a landscape of the moon. So that's the explanation for the title.

Wow, this is an amazing capture. I love the lone dog standing in the middle of a beautiful white world of snow while the sun sets at the horizon. What I love especially about this, is how Jodie does not look into the camera but at the setting sun. It seems like she is off in her own world dreaming about whatever it is your dog loves, looking forward to it with great expectations.

The only thing that I personally would have like a bit more would have been if the dog were not so dark, but could have been a bit better seen. However, this one is a matter of personal opinion. The play of light and shadow is such a nice thing one can experiment with in a photo, so I think there is never a right or wrong, just personal preferences. <img src="e.deviantart.net/emoticons/w/w…" width="15" height="15" alt=";)" data-embed-type="emoticon" data-embed-id="387" title=";) (Wink)"/> And beside that last point not being exactly my personal preference, I still love the photo very much and think you did a great job.
